Residencies & Place-Based Practice
Artist residencies allow me to slow down, listen, and create in direct response to new landscapes. From the tundra of northern Iceland to the rivers of Vermont, and beyond, each place leaves its imprint on my practice and continues to shape how I work.

Iceland, 2024
In 2024, I spent a winter residency at NES in northern Iceland, where the stark landscapes of tundra, volcanic rock, and shifting light reshaped my ceramic practice. Surrounded by an environment at once fragile and resilient, I continued my Travelers series, exploring seed-like forms as vessels of migration and survival. The work that emerged carries traces of that place—its silence, its extremes, and its enduring sense of movement across distance.
Vermont, 2023
In August 2023, I spent a month at the Vermont Studio Center, where the quiet rhythm of the Gihon River and the lush northern landscape shaped a period of deep focus and growth. Within a dedicated studio space, I continued developing The Travelers—a collection of over 130 seed forms in porcelain and stoneware that explore movement, resilience, and transformation. The residency offered time to slow down, connect with other artists, and let the work evolve in dialogue with the landscape around me.
